The man in charge of Mazda’s sales in the United Kingdom has thanked the company’s dealerships, after the manufacturer announced that March was the most successful month ever in terms of sales.
March’s tally of 11,500 cars sold – boosted, no doubt, by the World Car of the Year and World Car Design of the Year titles bestowed on the Mazda MX-5 – zoomed past the company’s previous record of 11,405, set in September of 2009.
The manufacturer has benefitted from an inventive 2015, which saw three brand new models released, updates to previous vehicles, such as the Mazda CX-5 and Mazda6 and – of course – the release of the new ‘16’ registration plates.
Mazda has overtaken the rest of the industry, who experienced sales growth of just five per cent, compared to Mazda’s 14%.
Mazda UK’s sales director, Peter Allibon, was bullish in saying: "Mazda has been on an amazing journey over the last 12 months [and] to top that off with an all-time monthly sales record in March is tremendous. It's a fantastic reflection of the fresh, stylish and great to drive product range we currently have and it's also a result of the dedicated and passionate teams we have, both within Mazda and the 135 dealers in our network."
Here at MKG 3000, we’re delighted at the latest news emanating from Mazda UK HQ, and pleased that our hard work – and that of other dealers – has been recognised by Peter. Here are three of the main contributors to our success:
Released late last year, this sporty hatchback drives like a dream and is easy on the environment, too.
A comfortable, but agile 4x4, the CX-5 benefits from Mazda’s latest SKYACTIV technology.
Sporty, sexy and stylish – it’s no surprise this beauty took home the gongs at the annual automotive awards.
