  • Mazda MX-5 RF set to be released in March 2017

    new Mazda

After much speculation (including from us: new Mazda Blog) since its unveiling back in March at the New York Motor show, pricing details are finally available, along with a roll out date, for Mazda's much-anticipated two-seater convertible with its retractable hardtop.
Mazda fans will be able to drive the Launch Edition model away from 4th March 2017, while the standard 1.5L editions will turn up in showrooms from May. Prices will start from £22,195 for the 1.5 litre SE-L Nav edition, or you can upgrade for an extra £2,600 to the 2.0 litre Sport Nav model.

The Launch Edition model, a two litre engine version, will be limited to just 500 units. To ensure high interest, it offers some exciting extras including slip differential and 17-inch wheels. Also in the package are Bilstein dampers and a strut brace for increased dynamic setup and handling. Exclusive accent features include a duo-tone roof, black door mirrors and rear spoiler, plus BBS wheels.

Metallic colour options include the enigmatic Soul Red, or the stealthy Machine Grey to really make a statement. The three-part roof and rear screen use a similar retraction system to the recent Porsche design, and can be used in motion at up to six miles per hour. Expect the Launch Edition to sell out fast, so make a beeline to MKG3000 for your London or Surrey Mazda needs.

At the high end of the range comes the £27,095 Sport Nav Auto, debuting an automatic gearbox for UK models of the MX-5 RF. Much of the design and factory focus has been on producing a refined ride and improved comfort in the cabin.
Design tweaks include sound-absorbent materials in the headliner and insulation packing around the rear wheels to help reduce noise. With production well underway at Mazda’s Ujina Plant in Hiroshima, Japan, it won't be long until British Mazda fans can get their hands on these ultra-stylish roadsters.
